Prior to forming HawsGoodwin Financial, Art served as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch where he provided investment management, wealth and financial planning for individuals and corporate retirement plans.
From 1999 to 2003 Art served as Vice President of the Investment Division for Independence Trust Company, a privately held trust company based in Franklin, Tennessee. While at Independent Trust, Art was engaged in corporate strategy and execution, as well as investment and trust management responsibilities. Art also served on the company’s Board of Directors.
Art began his career with Equitable Securities Corporation, where he was a Vice President within the Institutional Municipal Bond Sales and Trading group. Art specialized in municipal bond sales and trading covering the major mutual fund, insurance and trust companies throughout the United States.
Art holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in Business Administration from Murray State University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and past member of the Nashville Estate Planning Council, The Battle of Franklin Trust Board of Directors, and The Historic Carnton Plantation Board of Directors.
On a personal note:
Art especially enjoys spending time with his three children. On any given weekend you might find him travelling to hear his son, a professional musician, play guitar; or, attending a cheerleading competition to watch either of his daughters compete. He is an avid music fan, guitar player, runner and enjoys playing golf.
