Franklin, Tenn. — HawsGoodwin Financial (HawsGoodwin), a Cool Springs-based financial service and investment firm, has expanded its scope to include a comprehensive employee benefits division. Leading this effort on behalf of HawsGoodwin will be Tom Weatherman, a 35-year insurance professional with long-standing ties to Middle Tennessee insurance providers and agencies.
HawsGoodwin’s new employee benefits division has been formed in response to a growing need from the firm’s extensive client base. Mr. Weatherman will oversee the implementation of the division’s infrastructure, as well as its program offerings which include group medical, life, and dental; disability and vision; flexible and health savings accounts; wellness programs, and individual medical and life insurance.
“Tom is an extremely well-respected professional in Middle Tennessee, and his vast knowledge of the insurance industry will be beneficial to our firm and more importantly to our existing and future clients,” said Art Haws, CEO. “We view this as an important step in the firm’s growth and we are excited about the potential opportunities on the horizon.”
Prior to joining HawsGoodwin, Mr. Weatherman served as Employee Benefits Manager for Integro — an international insurance brokerage with offices in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Before joining Integro’s Nashville team, Mr. Weatherman was Vice President, Sales Manager, and Producer at Gale Smith and Company — a Brentwood-based insurance agency acquired by A.J. Gallagher in 2008. In his almost 20-year tenure with Gale Smith, Mr. Weatherman was responsible for multiple internal management roles as well as spearheading planning, consulting, and compliance initiatives on behalf of the company’s clients.
Mr. Weatherman has also held sales and management positions with Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee, and Cigna. He received his B.S. from Lipscomb University.
